My New year's resolution- compo.
As the calendar approaches the New Year, countdown parties erupt as the clock strikes twelve, signaling the dawn of a new year. People around the globe will be hoping to improve themselves compared to the year before. Forgetting past mistakes and ensuring one will not dance the dance again. Taking up reading as a hobby, being more active and achieving academic improvement, such would be my New Year resolution.
Since young, the habit of reading was never cultured into me. However fortunately, I realized the benefits of reading. As the December holiday fades to an end, I found myself idling more often than not. Despite the many activities in school, I found myself with an abundance of time, idling, which could have been invested into reading. Further more I can improve many aspects of my English through reading not excluding to speak more fluently. As I recorded the first book I completed reading this weekend, ‘The Last Templar’, I am off to a good start.
As we enter the year 2008, the ‘O’ levels examinations should be at the back of every secondary four’s mind. Everybody will strive to achieve the best result to their capabilities. Therefore I have to make it a point to revise through topics taught on the day when I return home. This ensures that I am able to understand and apply the knowledge gained. Subsequently, I will also have to make it a point to hand up my homework on time.
All work and no play would be a very boring way to cruise through the year 2008. Therefore, despite having to study and buckle up for examinations, making time for sports and games is a necessity. Catching a weekend movie, ice skating and many other ways or forms of relaxation can be a great way to freshen up before hitting the books again. Though studying must not be neglected.
As I set sail on my journey at the start of this New Year, I hope my resolutions will have been fulfilled by the end of this journey. And that this course that I have charted for myself will allow me to navigate me to my destination, to become an improved man.
